I'm not sure when I became aware of C.W. Enterprise pencil store ("conveyors of superior graphite"), maybe it was from a blog or web article but once I saw images of the store's interior I knew I had to check it out asap. If you're a tool/ pencil and pen nerd like I am then you will understand. Or if you just like to check out things arranged neatly then this place if for you too. It's a whole store dedicated to pencils and erasers sourced from around the world. Spoiler alert: they even have a whole room dedicated to stickers.
I of course had to get something to take home (everything there ranges from $1.50-$20) so I got two pencils, one for drawing and one for writing, as well as two erasers from japan, and a bronzed pencil sharpener keychain made in Germany. I definitely could have stayed another hour in this store looking at everything, so hard to pick favorites.
PS. I love their bright yellow, simple but effective packaging. PPS: see how one of the pencils is so unassuming on the outside (matte black) but on the inside is a rainbow? Amazing.
It's located downtown on Orchard Street pretty close to the East Broadway stop on the F train. Pro tip if you have extra time for a bite to eat check out Kiki's for greek food and amazing no bake cheesecake, and then head to Little Canal for drink afterward. And then go to Ice and Vice for a cone.
